Description

light-weighted wood, blackish brown patina, red and white pigment, bulbous coiffure, raised tattoos on face and back, accents with red and white pigment, slightly dam., paint rubbed off in some areas;
like all the other peoples living in the east of the Ivory Coast, the Abron belong to the ethnic group of the Akan. In woodcarvings the geographical locations of the Baule in the west and the Akan/Ashanti in the east can easily be seen.
