Description

wood, small remains of black patina, crude carved body, deepened facial plane with schematized facial features and tapering ears, incised scarificaton marks, accentuation of the female sex characteristics, dam., cracks, missing parts (left foot), strong abrasion, traces of old age and weathering, on base;
such ancestor figures - like the skulls - take the place of the deceased, they embody his shadowy soul.
