Description

heavy wood, dark brown patina, round staff with curved top in shape of a stylized antelope head with open snout, the pupils inset with metal tags, min. dam., traces of insect caused damage and abrasion, fissures;
such objects are carried, hooked over the left shoulder, by the priests “hogon” of the Dogon.
