terracotta, brown coating, with band decor and incised patterns, min. dam., small missing parts, slight traces of usage and abrasion;
Nupe pottery was long ignored and it was only fairly recently that cult- and ordinary vessels have been taken abroad in fairly large quantities where they aroused immediate interest because of their happy combination of usefulness and beauty.
