Description

metal alloy, holding an item (calabash?) in the right hand, min. dam., slight traces of corrosion;
this figure bears resemblance to works from the Djenne region, especially in the broad triangular nose, block-like parallel lips and topknot. The were made by blacksmiths that were itinerant artisants and did not work exclusively for the Dogon, but draw clients from among the Fulani and Mossi as well.
