Description

ivory, dark patina in some areas, min. dam., fissures through old age, slight traces of abrasion;
within men’s society “bwami” just members of the “kindi” level were allowed to possess such ivory figures. Each object was combined with special proverbs implying positive or negative meaning, depending on the context in which they were used.


The object Small head sculpture with the object ID 3033336 was part of the auction 70th tribal art auction on September 8, 2012. The object with the lot number 416 achieved a sales price of EUR 4,000 with an asking price of EUR 1,500.
