Description

terracotta, red pigment remains, expressive facial features with bean-shaped raised eyes and a big mouth, crowned by a two-parted forehead crest, min. dam., missing parts, slight traces of abrasion, base;
presumably part of a figure. Such figures are placed on shrines and altars, just like the widespread wooden “bateba” sculptures. They are the only terracotta objects made by men.
