Description

light wood, dark brown patina, red pigment (in two shades), mannered version of characteristic “kifwebe” type: disc-shaped flattened face with extremely waisted sides and elongated mouth/chin area, flat incised grooved pattern around eyes, slightly dam. (root of the nose), traces of old age (wood on the backside);
Luba with Songe influence.


The object Small female mask “kifwebe” with the object ID 3039860 was part of the auction 82nd Tribal Art Auction on February 27, 2016. The object with the lot number 217 achieved a sales price of EUR 850 with an asking price of EUR 800.
