Description

wood, dark, spotty patina, traces of usage, small missing pieces, insect caused damage, on base;
used at divination ceremonies to accompany songs introducing the oracle. The rectangular opening was not just a resonator, it could contain magical mass as well.


The object Slit drum “nkokongombo” with the object ID 3017560 was part of the auction 70th tribal art auction on September 8, 2012. The object with the lot number 180 achieved a sales price of EUR 600 with an asking price of EUR 500.
