Description

wood, brown patina, three masks of the Bassa/Liberia, three from the Dan/Ivory Coast, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion;
these miniature masks are called “ma go “, which means “small head”. On travels they act as a substitute for the big masks in representing the helping spirit.


The object Six miniature masks “ma go” with the object ID 3032169 was last part of the auction 68th tribal art auction at March 3, 2012 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 75 achieved a sales price of EUR 550.
