a) club, Queensland, fluted corpus, roughened grip zone, old label with inventory no. “33540”, l: 62 cm

b) club, Queensland, grooved beating area, fluted corpus, roughened grip zone, old label with inventory no. “34631”, l: 64 cm

c) club with old collection label “Bj 44403 SW/.”, l: 84 cm

comes with: three further clubs of various shapes, l: 66 cm - 71 cm, rich age patina

Lumholtz (1889) recorded that these clubs were used to kill small animals from a distance of about ten to twelve yards. The handle end was also used to dig up roots, eggs, rats and bandicoots.
