Description

wood, strongly encrusted black patina, traces of red pigment, compact body, crested coiffure, horn-like forehead projection, both hands resting on the breasts, square deepening on the right side of the body, sacrificial traces (feathers/above all at the chin), slightly dam., vertical crack (trunk), traces of insect caused damage at the same place, metal plate;
probably used in connection with fertility. The thick sacrificial patina is impregnated with smoke, the result that the figures were kept in fireplaces as protection against insects.
