Description

wood, dark brown patina, encrusted in some areas, slightly asymmetrical body (knees pointing to the right, hanging right shoulder), big head with three-parted grooved coiffure, slightly dam., minor missing parts (right ear), cracks (above all backside), on plate;
the sculptural style of the Tsogho is similar to that of the Fang. However the faces of their masks and figures are characterized by a distinct emphasis on the eyebrows which then often form a double semi-circle, which is the case with present figure as well.
