Description

fired clay, round back, the craning head inclined and the right arm resting in front of the breast in a sort of reverential bow, striking fine facial features with a shaved round coiffure, incised letters on the back, slightly dam., legs below the knee missing;
Falascha, the “black jews” are a small ethnic group in Ethiopia, which practices a pre-Talmudic Jewish faith. Their art consists of small heads and figures made of terracotta.
