wood, reddish brown patina, provided with only one leg and one arm, opening in the belly for insertion of magical substances, drilled holes for suspension, slightly dam., minor missing parts (ears), cracks, plate;
belonging to the so-called “m-mbwoolu-tsyo” statuettes. They appear in series that can number as many as twenty figures in a single ritual shelter, at which “Sir Kambamba-Who-has-one-leg” is often the principal one. Missing limbs, twisted body or swelling torso appear to be representations of the situation in which the victim or his/her antecedents have been involved.
