Description

rattan, stabilized by braided reed rim, round iron disc with thorn-like protrusion on the front, wooden handle on the rear, min. dam., traces of usage and abreasion, cracks (back).
The round iron discs are found exclusively on the shields of so-called “forward fighters”, a rank bestowed as a sign of distinction only on especially brave warriors.


The object Shield with the object ID 3042829 was last part of the auction 87th Tribal Art Auction at November 11, 2017 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 445 achieved a sales price of EUR 900.
