Description

cow or buffalo hide, oval form, old writing on the carrying pole, min. dam., breakages (rim), traces of usage;
this rare, narrow shield with carrying pole in the back and a sturdy wooden hoop for strengthening the rim, is similar in construction to those of the Massai.


The object Shield with the object ID 3038024 was last part of the auction 79th Tribal Art Auction at March 21, 2015 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 518 achieved a sales price of EUR 400.
