leather, dark brown patina, of circular form, conical-shaped vaulted in the centre, decorated with punched ornaments, massive leather handle on the rear, min. dam., slight traces of usage;
the shields are known for their flawless workmanship and, in particular, for their striking graceful and elegantly executed gravings. By wearing them on their lower arm, the Somal were able to use that arm for animated gesticulation.
