Description

cane work with dark patina, of elongated, oval form, rattan frame, woven in several crisscross layers of reed and small slats, it was held together with rattan fibres to form a tight wickerwork, decorated with geometrical patterns in dark paint, wooden handle board backside, min. dam., slight traces of usage;
in earlier times shields of the Poto and Ngombe were often decorated with traditional zigzag pattern.


The object Shield with the object ID 3032476 was last part of the auction 68th tribal art auction at March 3, 2012 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 453 achieved a sales price of EUR 500.
