brass, a) solid anklet, the outer profile decorated with four big bells, two of them with seeds for rattling, missing parts, d: 8 cm; b) heavy ring with three bells, d: 8 cm; c) small band-like ring with three bells, d: 6 cm; d) ring with eleven bells, d: 8 cm; e) ring with six bells, d: 6 cm; f) ring with nine bells, d: 7,5 cm; g) ring with two bells, d: 7,5 cm;
rings with bells can be found allover the Volta area. Very often they are worn by small children around the ankles in order to let their mothers know where they are. Musicians wore them as bracelets and their sound could be heard during the dance.
