Description

fired red clay, traces of red and black pigment, phalliform object, elaborately decorated, navel-like projection, slightly dam., minor missing parts, metal base;
such steles were found buried in the ground with the opening pointing downwards. They are said to have been filled with clothes and further belongings of the deceased.


The object Sepulchral stele with the object ID 3041164 was part of the auction 84th Tribal Art Auction on November 5, 2016. The object with the lot number 158 achieved a sales price of EUR 2,000 with an asking price of EUR 1,000.
