Description

wood, brown patina, kaolin, holding two items, dam., strongly marked by insect caused damage (above all in the base area), cracks, abrasion of paint, base;
even for the Ijaw the donation of ancestors plays an important role. Aside of ancestor panels “duein fubara” they made anthropomorphic figures representing bush spirits and ghosts “oru fubara”. But figures might as well depict presbyters, village heroes or other honoured persons.
