Description
wire and clay, pigment paint, mounted on base, everything and nothing: freed from skin colour, religion, social rank or sexual identity, Rabee Darwish’s sculptures speak a powerful, universal language. Without symbolic attributions, they create a space of possibilities for dialogue between them and the viewer, thus enabling a realisation of the human beyond individual knowledge.
Rabee Darwish, born 1990 near as-Suwaida, Syria. Graduated top of his class in Fine Arts / Sculpture at the University of Fine Arts of Damascus in 2012. Subsequently lectures at the university. Fled to Germany in 2015. Exhibitions in Syria and Germany.
