Description

wood, encrusted brown patina, iron, round staff with split and flattened endings with inserted metal plate, fixed by iron rings, min. dam., cracks, traces of corrosion.
“Ofo” is a central element in the religious and spiritual life of the Igbo and is used in numerous rituals. It has many roles: as manifestation of the divine, as medium among man and divinity, man and ancestors and humans among each other.
