Description

bronze, base

This very refined example of a ritual ladle might have originated from Northeastern Thailand. Similar examples with a bird-like ending of the handle have been discovered in the vicinity of Ban Chiang, but also in related Bronze Age sites in neighbouring Laos and Cambodia.

This ladle is superbly cast and most likely served for ceremonial purposes.
