Description

wood, metal sheet, metal tags, covered with brass sheet, oval head with the facial features arranged within the lower half of the face, flanked by lateral semi-circles with chased geometrical ornaments, crowned by sickle-shaped coiffure, diamond-shaped neck, originally inserted into the lid of the skull-basket, min. dam., base;
a work of the carver Okouelle, a member of the Otala clan.


The object Reliquiary figure “mboy” with the object ID 3039593 was last part of the auction 81st Tribal Art Auction at October 31, 2015 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 410 achieved a sales price of EUR 5,000.
