Description

Pigments, oil paint and acrylic paint in silicone, on Canvas,
Born in Wurzburg in 1963 Studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt/Main, master class with Prof. Michael Croissant.

A recurring subject in Hans Bruckner’s painting is the examination of minimalism, especially the American art of the 1960s and 1970s. Hans Brückner contrasts the stylistic features of hard edge and seriality that predominate there with implied line structures, cloud-like gradients and shades of colour as well as lasures, creating the impression of dissolution and suggestion instead of hard presence. The original premises are not thereby called into question, but shifted into the (invisible) realm of the ideal of Minimal Art.
