Description

rectangular form, two-parted, bottom and top side of the lid made from wood, the sides from bark, decorated with fine plaited rattan bands, which were “sewn” on the bark, inserted diamond-shaped dot pattern on the lid, slightly dam., missing parts at the bottom, abrasion of paint, plaited bands partly dam.;
used for keeping textiles. A comparable piece can be found in the Royal Museum for Central Africa in Tervuren, Inventory No. “EO 1954-40.22”.
