Description

wood, white pigment, rest.

Most Yaure masks show a human face combined with animal attributes. The distinctive motif of long ears is more common in Yaure masks. However, the horn-like projections on the chin, reminiscent of elephant tusks, are unusual and very rare. A comparable specimen was exhibited by Savary in Neuchâtel in 1985 (Savary, p. 36, ill. 42), another published in AHDRC 0167808.
