Description

33 brass figures, attachment partly made from wood, on wooden plate rising from brass feet, large figure of the chief in gorgeous vestment and with a long pipe in the centre, sitting on a hammock, fixed to a long wooden bar supported by especially high towering figures, four warriors to the front, followed by banner carrying figures and a variegated mixture of male and female figures, some of them carrying fans or dishes, others stools, chests or amphoras, musicians with horns, gongs or drums inbetween, small traces of corrosion (figures), stained greyish-brown patina, cracks (wooden plate), in display case from acrylic glass;
uniform figures with slender bodies and tube-like curved limbs, but exuberantly varied in posture and endowment. Planes with delicately hammered and incised decor.


The object Processional group: Chief accompanied by his entourage with the object ID 3038059 was part of the auction 79th Tribal Art Auction on March 21, 2015. The object with the lot number 250 achieved a sales price of EUR 1,800 with an asking price of EUR 450.
