These knives serve as status weapons and objects of representation and can be up to 80 cm long. They are worn by the Kota, Kele, Nzabi, Mbete, Mbamba and other ethnic groups in areas of central and southeastern Gabon and the neighbouring Republic of Congo (Sanga region).


The object Prestige knife with the object ID 3045895 was part of the auction 93rd Tribal Art Auction on November 16, 2019. The object with the lot number 360 achieved a sales price of EUR 430 with an asking price of EUR 200.
