Description

wood, partly shiny dark brown patina, cavity in the head and in the navel, filled with remains of magical mass, broad neck with accentuated Adam’s apple, slanting eyes, min. dam., traces of insect caused damage and abrasion, fine cracks, base;
the Luntu, who are of Luba origin, came from the Luba-Kasai region in their second migration. Though the Luntu are under the jurisdiction of the Luba, their material culture and tradition has been strongly affected by both, the neighbouring Lulua (who are also of Luba origin) and by borderland Songye and Kuba marauders, who established in the area.
