wood, encrusted patina, base
Koloss reported that local Keaka healers used “medicin” or “power figures” called “enok ateng”, which means “fighting alone”. These figures were said to have been created to aid the healing process by helping to ward off evil forces.
Claessens sees the anthropomorphic figures as part of a larger category of ritual objects known as “ajom” (sing. “njom”) - “magic medicine”.
The object Power figure “enok ateng” or “njom” with the object ID 3052194 was last part of the auction Collectors’ Items Sale at September 24, 2025 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 239.
