Post in the shape of a Maternity figure

Description

wood, greyish brown patina, black paint, indigo blue pigment, carved with neckring and bracelets, drilled ear holes, slightly dam., minor missing parts (heels), cracks, base;
probably once part of a veranda post (lower part cut).
Veranda roofs within the interior court of palaces, sanctuaries or dwellings of dignitaries were often supported by such artificially carved posts.
