Description

wood, encrusted greyish brown patina, carved with two janus heads, rhomb-shaped piercing in the middle, min. dam., cracks , missing parts through insect caused damage, slight traces of abrasion, base;
these posts are used to define the restricted area where the ceremonies of the night society are held (according to Pierre Harter). Many of the objects collected from the northwestern group of Bangwa show the same accretions of soot from having been stored in the roof space of dwellings.
