Description

wood, shiny brown patina, the beating zone decorated with incised zigzag patterns and notched ornaments, drilled hole, min. dam., fine cracks;
used as weapon in combat, if the need arose, a Fijian chief could deploy the “bowai” to “discipline” his wife.
