Description

rattan frame, plant fibres, of elongated oval form, woven in several crisscross layers of reed and small slats, held together with rattan fibres to form a tight wickerwork, decorated with geometrical patterns in dark paint, wooden handle board backside, min. dam., slight traces of usage;
in earlier times shields of the Poto and Ngombe were often decorated with traditional zigzag pattern.
