mounted on black velvet, in a glazed wooden display case (m: 25 cm x 71 cm x 10 cm)

Broad band of gold plate, densely set with small disc-shaped pendants

The band was formerly supplemented by an elaborately worked superstructure and formed the crowning of a golden mask. A complete jewellery ensemble of this type published in “Peru, Art from the Chavin to the Incas”, Musée du Petit Palais (ed.), Paris 2006, p. 155, fig. 179.
