Description

wood, greyish brown patina, camwood powder “osun”, faint traces of indigo blue pigment, strings with coconut discs and polychrome miniature glass beads, characteristic features: crown-shaped coiffure, separated from the face by two grooves, “pinched” facial features, eyes with framing eyelashes, tribal marks on face and belly, facial features rubbed off through repeated feeding procedures, missing parts through insect caused damage (coiffure of the male figure), strong abrasion of paint, traces of old age and usage in the cult
