Description
wood, brown patina, remains of indigo blue paint, encrustations with camwood powder, male/female, the pupils inset with metal tags, three vertical incisions on the cheeks, beautiful old age patina, the facial features strongly abraded through long ritual usage, paint rubbed off, the coiffures slightly dam. on the backside, fine cracks;
in the style of the Igbuke family of carvers. The typical marks on the abdomen and the grooved ornamentation running around the base are easily recognizable.
