Description

wood, reddish brown patina, black paint, both carved with loincloth, the male figure with playing a flute, slightly dam., paint rubbed off, rep. (base);
the flute as classical attribute surely referring to the trickster god “eshu”.The females hands up to the breasts may be interpreted as sacrificial gesture.
