Description

wood, softly luminous brown patina, indigo blue pigment, camwood powder, each of the figures abundantly adorned (three strings of coconut discs, metal bracelets, anklets from copper sheet), one of the figures additionally adorned with four cowrie shells, female sexual characteristics especially emphasized, slightly dam., abrasion of paint (facial features, coiffure on the backside), crack.
Cowrie shell ornament is an indication of the high regard paid to the deceased by his family, and the wealth of the family as well.
