Description

ivory, reddish brown patina, natural grains visible, metal tag eyes (left one missing), the bottom section hollowed out to form a small bell provided with a wooden clapper, slightly dam., minor missing parts, paint rubbed off in parts, beautiful patina of old age and usage;
such tappers are used by the diviners to strike the “ifa” tray with the pointed end in order to attract Orunmilas attention at the beginning of the session.


The object Oracle tapper “iroke ifa” with the object ID 3038411 was last part of the auction 79th Tribal Art Auction at March 21, 2015 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 291 achieved a sales price of EUR 500.
