The lion mask (“shishi” - type) was adopted by the “Nô” theater from old religious dances and the facial features according to their differentiated use over time heavily humanized.


The object “Nô” theatre mask “ko jishi” (lion mask) with the object ID 3045062 was last part of the auction 90.I Tribal Art and 90.II Contemporary Native American Art at November 17, 2018 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house and had the lot number 23.
