Description

wood (boxtree?), light and dark brown patina, pupils and forehead emblem with inlay (bone and black horn?), rectangular face with extremely broad mouth and revealed upper row of teeth, ornamental arranged wrinkles, signature backside is broken out, light abrasion of paint;
worn by actors in the roles of demon and “tengu”. “Tengu” is the name of a legendary creature, which is attributed to the category of “yokai” (ogres).
