Necklace · India, Naga · ID: 3033724
Description
27 strings, glass beads of different form and colour thread on plant fibre, the geometry is maintained by bone spacers, good condition;
the uncertain division between ornament and amulet provides the ornaments with the faculty of exercising good or bad influences, and therefore they must be handled with care. For this reason in the past a new bead necklace was first given to a dog to wear, so that the bad spirit possibly living in it would have afflicted the animal and not the person wearing it later.
The object Necklace with the object ID 3033724 was last part of the auction 71st tribal art auction at November 24, 2012 on Zemanek-Münster Auction house. The object with the lot number 35 achieved a sales price of EUR 200.
