Description

  1. amulet “luha” with Koranic verses, Djerba Island, silver, polychrome enamelled (also reverse), with chain, m: 10 cm x 7.1 cm; w: 40 g

Amulets enamelled in a rich palette of colours were made exclusively on the island of Djerba by mostly Jewish silversmiths. The fish symbol on the reverse can also be read as a “signature” for Djerba, whose enamelled and filigree jewellery objects were exported not only to the Tunisian mainland but also to Libya. Rare and sought after !

  1. temple ornament in pairs, silver, engraved, chains with “khamsa” pendants, m: 17,5 cm x 4,5 cm (without hook); w: 98 g

Parts of a more complex temple jewellery, slightly differing from each other, but certainly used as a pair.
