Description

  1. pair of anklets, silver (alloy), hollow work, with attached silver beads, d: 6,5 cm x 2,0 cm (inside); w: 123 g

Anklets of this basic type can be found in different versions in the whole cultural area (South Morocco, Mauritania, South and Southwest Algeria, North Mali). They are a document of trans-Saharan cultural exchange and are often attributed to the Tuareg, although the iconography clearly shows Berber origins.

  1. pair of anklets, silver (alloy), cast, chisseled, with applied silver beads, d: 10.2 cm x 4.8 cm; w: 695 g

The front plates of these exceptionally beautiful anklets are elaborately worked and the engraving is partly covered with red and black paint. Outstanding old objects, which are hardly to be found in this quality !
