Description

copper alloy (bronze, brass),
The original use of these strange metal sculptures, as well as their exact origin, remain obscure to this day.

The two-part group of figures is cast in an open mould. The metal, which has been hardened in the open air, can be seen on the back.

For a stylistically very similar object, see AHDRC 0136304. Further figures illustrated in Lehuard (1996), p. 374 f.
