The “marangga” was worn during special ritual occasions and is imposing because of its size, as well as its stark, “modern” shape. It was so sacred, that it was kept hidden in the “adat” house, with its use carefully controlled by priests.


The object Men’s ceremonial chest ornament “marangga” with the object ID 3051797 was part of the auction Auction 104 on April 12, 2025. The object with the lot number 205 achieved a sales price of EUR 400 with an asking price of EUR 300.
